Easy to install

You can install them yourself in ten minutes. You'll only need a screwdriver and some patience. The first step is to take off the cover. It must be removed before the new cover can be fitted.

After removing the old cover, you can use a flathead to pry the four main attachment clips from the passenger side of fob assembly. These are marked in red on the picture below. Pay attention to the yellow tabs that need to be disconnected.

After taking the battery off, replace it with a brand new 3 volt coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should be facing the fob's opening, and the "-" side should be facing the rubber buttons.

Reattach the passenger side mirror cover by aligning the tabs that locate it. Once you have completed this, put the fob that is on the driver's side back in your car and test it by pressing the push button on the front of the car key. This is used to remind you of the "key-inignition". The BCM will scan the transponder on the key fob to verify that it's a valid key.
